this is slightly off topic, as it is an email from my SISTER, who's hosting a contest for a Jonas Brothers signed camera. She won it from a J14 contest (she is 23), and decided that instead of selling it, she would make each fan send in $1 along with a paragraph on why they deserve the camera. Ridiculous.

It's not a scam at all. I won this from J14 magazine and I don't want it. I tried to sell it on ebay but all of the people who were interested didn't have ebay. So I figured I could make it into a contest, and that is how I could make my money for it (instead of selling it on ebay), but also give it to someone who deserves it.

If you want me to scan in the envelope from J14 to prove that I won it and that it's real, I will do that for you. Otherwise, please don't try to screw up our contest and tell people it's a scam when it's not.

Because otherwise I would sell it on ebay for $150, but I figured since the people who would want it most (teenage girls) don't have ebay, I could turn it into a contest so that way, $1 wouldn't be too much to ask for (as apposed to $150) and it would go to someone who really loves the Jonas Brothers.
I'm not going to give it away because otherwise I would be able to get money for it. And it is the recession and I am unemployed. I'm just being honest.

Because asking for $1 isn't unreasonable. It's only one dollar. I really want it to go to someone who is clearly the biggest fan, trust me. But at the same time, I can't just give it away because otherwise I would make at least $150 from it off ebay. If you'd like to enter, it's only fair to submit $1 like everyone else. But, the contest also ends at the end of April, so you have plenty of time to get in that one dollar!

If you'd like to see the envelope from J14, or anything else, I can prove to you that we are indeed giving it away fairly. Additionally, I gave out my address and if I wasn't planning on giving it away, that wouldn't be fair and people would find out.
